Welcome to All the City’s a Stage in Toronto!
This Ontario Culture Days festival, Toronto is the setting for All The City’s A Stage — a series of pop-up events at libraries in neighbourhoods across the city. Torontonians are invited to bring a blanket/chair, sit back, and enjoy the free shows and discussions. This unique initiative is produced by the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA), an arts service organization that represents 165 professional theatre, dance, and opera organizations. We talked to Theresa Gerrow about how she and the team at TAPA are working to bring live-performances back to the Toronto scene.
Take a look at the event listings here and plan to attend one or all!
Since these events take place in 11 different libraries around the city, we asked Theresa for some of her favourite spots in 3 Toronto neighbourhoods:
Parkdale
- Loga’s Corner
- Himalayan Kitchen
- House Of Vintage is a great place to kill some time if you have a moment in Parkdale. A treasure chest filled with one-of-a-kind pieces!
Leaside
- Avoca Chocolates
- Eggtastic for some delicious Middle Eastern inspired brunch. Theresa recommends the Kafta Croissant!
Beaches
- Isabella’s Mochi Donut Boutique – Theresa loves mochi and making it into a donut makes it even better! Delicious rotating flavours every week.
- Green Eggplant (2024 Queen St E)
