Honouring National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
September 13, 2022
On September 30, our provincewide festival will exclusively hold space for and promote events honouring National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR) honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools and their families, endeavours to acknowledge and better understand the harms done, and engage in the 94 calls to action to advance Truth and Reconciliation. As a company and festival, we are exclusively centring Indigenous-led events on this day.
These Indigenous-led and centred events across the province are honouring the history and harms of residentials schools, while celebrating the voices and stories of Indigneous artists, leaders, and residential school survivors.
We encourage you to plan to attend, listen in, or participate in these events. All events from our festival are free to attend. Some pre-registration may be required. And many digital events below can be returned to and rewatched.
The Ontario Culture Days Festival is a provincewide and month-long event offering exclusively free arts and culture programming. With over 1000 events to enjoy, there’s something for everyone. Find an event near you, here.
