This year has offered us more tricks, than treats, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate Halloween in style. Halloween is the one time of year where we get to celebrate being scary, wear extravagant costumes, and treat our sweet tooth. We have put together a collection of things to do at home and around your community this spooky season.
Pumpkins After Dark Drive-in
If you’re in Milton, celebrate Halloween by exploring a creative take on the traditional activity. Pumpkins After Dark will bring you through a scenic 2.5km drive at the Country Heritage Park in Milton, where you will be able to see over 150 glowing pumpkin sculptures like you have never seen before. York Region Collection of Crafts, Costumes, Games and Treats
The kids might not have a chance to go door to door collecting treats this year but there is still lots to do. York Region has put together a Pinterest collection of decorations, games, crafts, snacks, costumes, activities, and more for a spooktacular Halloween at home.
Casa Loma Haunted House Tour
What says Halloween more than spooky castles with ghostly residence? Casa Loma has been a fan favourite haunted house destination for years! This year they are hosting a self-guided tour where you will be able to experience the spectacular and scary sets scattered throughout the castle’s grounds and tunnels. The castle’s Gothic Revival style mansion and garden provides the ultimate ambiance of foreboding and horror, designed to give visitors a fright. Book your ticket here.
Haunted Tales of Oakville
In daylight, the Town of Oakville is a great place to explore their colourful art and culture scene. However, when night falls you might get the chance to meet some of their ghostly residents floating about, before dissipating in the blink of an eye.
For Ontario Culture Days the Oakville Society Museum released its online digital recording recounting the Tales of Haunted Oakville. You can still listen in and learn about the previous residences here.
October Beasts Art Tutorial
The Museum London and Jacqueline Demendeev have come together to show you how to create creatures that go bump in the night, through their October Beasts Art Tutorial. Using black paper and white paint Jacqueline will show you how to make an October Beast inspired by her recent exhibition “Great Beasts of the Dark Forest.” Tune in here.

Halloween Drive-in Theatre
