The annual Ontario Culture Days’ Creatives in Residence series invites artists to develop community-engaged projects to be presented during the fall Festival. This year’s lineup of residents explore themes of material culture.

Alisa McRonald is a contemporary textile artist who experiments with themes of folklore, fables and the esoteric. During the Festival, McRonald will present “Fables in Yarn” through exhibitions of her colourful, contemporary punch-needle wall-hangings at the Toronto Public Library and the Guelph Civic Museum. She will facilitate a large-scale collective art piece at the Queen West Art Crawl where art lovers will be invited to learn the art of punch-needling on-site and to contribute to this art piece.

Ontario Culture Days runs an annual Creatives in Residence program. Part of the work of the Creatives is presented during public events for our festival of free arts and culture programming across Ontario.
